Prolific Saunders to pay visit
PROLIFIC author of over 100 books and 600 short stories, Jean Saunders is to give a talk entitled “My Writing Life” at Shetland Library on Monday.
Her most popular books are historical and contemporary romances and family sagas. She also writes under the names Rowena Summers and Rachel Moore. She is an ex-chairwoman of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, and as well as novels and short stories she has written a series of books about how to write. She regularly gives workshops and talks, and writes a monthly column in Writing Magazine.
Jean is currently a guest lecturer on the cruise ship Marco Polo, and will give her talk at the library when the ship calls in to Lerwick.
Karen Fraser of Shetland Library said: “We are really pleased to welcome Jean to Shetland. She is one of our most borrowed authors and is particularly popular with mobile library customers. She is a very experienced public speaker and enjoys talking about her work.
“Because she’s here early in the day, we thought it would be nice to combine the event with a coffee morning at the library. All Jean’s fans are warmly invited to come to meet her, and of course everyone is welcome to call in for their morning coffee.”
Shetland Arts is helping to fund the talk, and Lerwick Book Group members are baking the cakes in aid of club funds. The coffee morning begins at 10.30am and Jean will start her talk at 11am.
