Fish prices slip
FISH prices have slipped slightly in the last week for some haddock and whiting at the markets, although better quality ones are still going strong.
A spokesman for LHD said prices for ling and lythe were still “fairly reasonable” and monks had “edged up,” meaning prices were still fairly good.
Whitefish prices: cod £1.83-£3.29; haddock £0.34-£2.53; hake £1.00-£2.10; halibut £3.40-£8.57; lemon sole £0.15-£6.00; ling £1.14-£2.28; lythe £3.00-£4.07; megrims £1.30-£4.56; monkfish £1.98-£3.88; plaice £0.36-£1.92; saithe £0.40-£1.25; skate £0.37-£1.33; squid £1.50-£4.59; tusk £0.45-£1.04; whiting £0.27-£2.48; witches £0.89-£2.23.
