Free kits offered by six-a-side organisers
LOCAL football teams are being offered free kits and a day out paintballing as an incentive to join a new six-a-side competition at Brae. The league will be running every Tuesday evening between 7pm and 9pm and thanks to sponsorship the organisers are now able to offer teams free shirts to ensure they look the part.
Nationwide Paintball, the largest Paintball company in the UK, will be sponsoring the league and teams signing up to play will be given a voucher entitling them to a day out paintballing for up to 35 friends at any Nationwide Paintball centre.
Teams will play a half-hour game each week in a league system with promotion and relegation at the end of the season. There is no registration or affiliation fee and match costs are just £2.75 per player per week, which the organisers say is the lowest price anywhere in the UK for an organised small-sided league.
League winners and runners- up receive individual trophies while there is also a top scorer competition.
The leagues will be fully affiliated to the Scottish Amateur Football Association with all matches being officiated by qualified SFA referees. All equipment will be provided so it is simply a case of turning up and enjoying the fun. Anyone over 16 can enter and you do not need to be an organised or established team, simply be a group of friends, work colleagues or even mates from the pub.
Anyone interested can either contact the league organisers on 0870 3300 888 for more information or teams can register online at www.js5asideleagues.com or www.soccersixes.net. Spaces are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
