The Southend innings did not start well with them losing three quick wickets. Steve Lamb and Neil McLean batted well to recover the situation before McLean was eventually out for 19. Southend only scored 66 for four off 10 overs.
Emergency Services lost their first wicket to a run-out. Southend took another wicket in the next over to put pressure on the Services batsmen. Andrew Cooper and Neville Davis inched their way towards the total of 67, which they reached with two balls to spare.
