Aberdeenshire’s very own Arizona band to round off country music season

SHETLAND Country Music Club is rounding off 2008 with a visit from Arizona, a band from Aberdeenshire.

The band members all come from the Inverurie, Mintlaw and Oldmeldrum area. They are a five piece band who have been playing together for over 10 years, and cover a wide range of material. Their country influences are Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson and Hank Williams and they also do 1960s and Scottish material.

They arrive in Shetland next Friday when they will head up to Yell and play to the isles folk at a supper dance in the Burravoe Hall starting around 9pm. Tickets are available locally or on the door on the night.

On Saturday night they will be in the Royal British Legion in Lerwick, playing at the Christmas Party. Tickets are available from the Legion door and the party kicks off at 9pm.

The organisers of the Shetland Country Music Club would like to take this opportunity to wish all their members and supporters all the best for the festive season and look forward to having more good country sounds in 2009, starting again hopefully in February or March.
