Thompson pockets another win

THE ANNUAL contest for the Lerwick Snooker Club Centenary Cup was played recently at the Whitedale Snooker Club.

Both finalists had a tough passage through, but Allan Johnson and Brian Thompson still had enough left to give the final the game it deserved.

Both players were consistent in their break building and safety play. Breaks of 20 plus and 30 plus were plentiful and after eight frames, in a best of nine matches, Brian edged out Allan 5-3.

A spokesman said Shetland Snooker Association would like to thank Whitedale Snooker Club for hosting the event.

The MK Leslie Trophy will be held in the Whitedale Snooker Club on Sunday, with names to be in for 12.30pm for a 1pm start.
