CLAN fundraising amazes Aberdeen-based organisers
Funds in the CLAN 1,2,3 appeal now stand at £210,000, it was disclosed this week.
Shetland’s fundraising efforts, which have pulled in around £1,000 per day for the appeal since it was launched in July, have amazed CLAN bosses in Aberdeen, some of whom will be arriving in Shetland today.
During their visit fundraising manager Susan Crichton and family support worker Leigh Ryrie will go to various CLAN events – one at Clickimin, when two rowers will row the equivalent of 75 km each, and one at Sound Dance Club – and meet members of the public.
On Monday Susan and Leigh will be at Islesburgh between 2pm and 6pm for a public drop-in session and are happy to arrange one to one sessions outwith these times.
After a few days in Orkney Susan will be back in Shetland on Thursday night and will be available for more appointments on Friday and Saturday before going to the sell-out CLAN corporate dinner that night.
Meanwhile, next week we will be revealing details of all the constestants in the forthcoming Strictly CLAN Dancing event – a take off of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing show – which is planned for April.
Phone CLAN on (01224) 647000 for an appointment with Susan or Leigh.
