Fraser and Harcus successfully bridge age gap

A good turnout of 44 played in the Junior Senior Open this year which also included a nine-hole com-petition.

With the course in fine condition and the weather favourable the scoring conditions were good and this was evident across the board.

In the nine-hole competition 11 pairs played with third place going to Gavin Phillip and Bobby Scott with a net 38. Second place went to father and son Keith and Kieran Fraser with a net 35.5. They just missed out by half a point to the winners Dale Smith and Lucy Morris who had a fine net 35. Winner of the hidden hole, Conner Uren, also came from the nine-hole competition.

In the 18-hole competition 11 pairs competed with some fine golf on show throughout the field. Andrew Bain won nearest the pin at the second, hitting his tee shot to six feet four inches, a shot any of the adults would have been proud of.

In third place with a fine net 65 was Jock and Gary Sim while second place was secured by Dougie McDonald and Jake Constable with a net 64. Jake has been playing some excellent golf recently and always seems to be in the prizes showing a great level of consistency.

Winners of the junior senior open this year were Alan Harcus and Stuart Fraser with an excellent net 62. Stuart played some excellent golf from start to finish, bailing Alan out on several occasions with faultless driving and also showing great touch around the greens.

A club spokesman thanked all juniors and adults for taking part and making the competition a great success and also thanks to Michelle for serving the food and drinks to everyone throughout the day.
