Man in court on drugs charges following seizure in Lerwick house

A man has appeared from custody in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on petition alleging offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Stuart Cameron Bowie, 38, of Kveldsro Gardens, Lerwick, made no plea or declaration, was committed for further examination and was remanded in custody. He is expected to appear in court again next week.

This follows the seizure of drugs suspected to be heroin with a street value of £13,500 on Thursday during a search at a house in Lerwick.

Following the find a 38-year-old man was arrested and reported to the procurator fiscal.
