Convener is deluded

As a member of the public attending both days of the Accounts Commission hearing I would like to say how impressed I was with the professional way the panel directed questions and insisted on direct answers from the named witnesses.

I do believe, however, that in his closing statement Sandy Cluness is under the delusion that the lack of general public in the audience meant that they approved of the way he has conducted himself as the convener – not even taking into consideration that the hearing was held on a Monday and Tuesday, both working days with 5,000 people alone being employed by the council.

The results of this hearing will be made public, so the general public’s attendance was unnecessary.
