Fiddle Frenzy line-up announced

Preparations for the seventh Fiddle Frenzy, from 8th to 15th August, are under way and the line-up of acts and contributors has been released.

Bands appearing at the concerts and dances include Jim Halcrow Dance Band, Shetland Fiddlers, Kolliforbolli, Bryan Gear and Violet Tulloch, the Cullivoe Fiddlers, Harris Playfair, the Jenna Reid Band, Northmavine Fiddle and Accordion Club, FradnerGamla, Filska, Catriona Macdonald, the Cullivoe Dance Band, Leeshinat and young traditional fiddler Kim Johnson.

Among the fiddle tutors are Bryan Gear, Bethany and Jenna Reid, Jim Leask and Bernadette Porter.

Aside from the music Fiddle Frenzy is also hosting a number of workshops. Elma Johnson and Davy Cooper will be there in their capacity as story-tellers while Jen Hadfield will lead creative writing workshops and Amy Fisher and Eve Eunson will lead visual art courses.
