What do his constituents think?

At Wednesday’s Full Council meeting, the recommendation from Gordon Greenhill not to hold any further public meetings to gauge response to the Viking Energy addendum was carried by 10 votes to seven with one abstention.

In forwarding the motion to accept the recommendation councillor Rick Nickerson gave his opinion that further public meetings would be a waste of money in these lean times. He also stated he did not need further public consultation, as he already knew how his constituents felt about the Viking Energy proposal.

Could I ask Mr Nickerson, for my benefit and any more concerned South Mainland folk, just what do his constituents think of the proposal, what are the figures and how did he arrive at them?
