Man makes second appearance in connection with drugs haul seized in Lerwick

An Aberdeen man made his second appearance at Lerwick Sheriff Court this afternoon in connection with a large drugs haul seized in the town last week.

Simon Philip McDonald, 36, of Garthdee Road, again appeared in private, after being held in custody since his first appearance last Friday. He made no plea or declaration, was fully committed for trial and released on bail.

Police seized heroin worth an estimated street value of £20,000 after the NorthLink ferry arrived at the terminal in Lerwick last Thursday morning.
