Scalloway are through to the final of senior football’s Highland Fuels Cup after defeating Delting on penalties in Monday evening’s semi-final at Harbison Park in Whalsay. The villagers now await the winner of tomorrow night’s Whalsay v Spurs match in Monday’s final.

(Scalloway won 4-3 on penalties)

Scalloway went one up through John William Laurenson in the first half but Kevin Main scored a cracker of a goal just before half time to level the scores.

Ross Macdougall put Delting 2-1 ahead early in the second half and Scalloway got a very late equaliser, Robert Garrick netting from the penalty spot.

There was no extra time and the game went straight to a penalty shoot-out which Scalloway won. The Scalloway keeper saved two penalties and the Delting keeper saved one.
