Up-and-coming pop star Carrie Mac is to perform in Shetland in two weeks’ time. The Scottish singer toured the UK in February with X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and is now embarking on her own gigs.

Her London PR company announced today she would play at an as-yet-unrevealed venue in the islands on Thursday 5th May at the unusual time of 1-3pm.

The gig comes three days after the release of her first UK single Till I See You Again which can already be seen and heard as a video on YouTube along with other songs she performs.

Mac hails from Edinburgh and is actually a classically trained violinist and she used to play in orchestras.

In her pop career she has previously toured with The Proclaimers, Tommy Reilly, Alex Gardner and Diana Vickers. She counts Fleetwood Mac, Christina Aguilera and Jessie J among her influences.
