Vexed for families (Carina Isbister)

Well, now that the bairns are off to the adequate and functional building that is the present Anderson High School it makes me wonder why there is any need for a new AHS at all.

Would it not be a wise decision on the council and education departments part to completely cut their losses and scrap any planning or building of a new school, therefore saving untold millions in the future education pot, ensuring no more fiascos like we have been experiencing at the minute and no more closures of any schools?

I am sorry that we are losing our younger Scalloway teens to Lerwick but feel even more vexed for the families of Uyeasound and Burravoe who are in jeopardy of losing their communities. Cuts need to be prioritised and spending needs to be necessary.

Well done, Carina – you have put in to words what the communities feel as a whole.
