Lerwick man who assaulted partner warned to stay out of trouble
A man who assaulted his partner after a drunken night out was warned to stay out of trouble when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court this week.
Craig Gow, 29, of the town’s Harbour Street, admitted pushing his girlfriend and knocking off her glasses in the 10th December incident at his home, injuring her.
The court heard Gow had returned home drunk and was “demonstrably aggressive” to the woman.
Defence agent Tommy Allan said Gow had been teetotal since the incident and had sought help from Shetland’s community drug and alcohol support service.
Sheriff Graeme Napier called for an updated report to be compiled on Gow’s drinking in time for his next court appearance on 21st March. He was also told to be of good behaviour.
