Knife-carrier was threatening and abusive
A man accused of having a knife in his possession and of threatening behaviour on Friday appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court today.
Darren McCran, 20, of Sandside, Firth, admitted having a knife in a square at Hoofields, Lerwick. He also admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner at a house in Hoofields, shouting and swearing, fighting with his partner, smashing a pane of door glass and punching and kicking holes in internal walls.
Defence solicitor Tommy Allan asked for McCran’s liberty and Sheriff Philip Mann agreed to release him on bail, with the special condition that he is not to be under the influence of alcohol in a public place and must provide a breath sample when asked to do so by police. Sentence was deferred for reports.
