Second renewables conference to be held after ‘great success’ of Dynamic Shetland

A second Dynamic Shetland conference and exhibition is to be held to try to boost the prospects for a renewable energy industry in the islands.

A date for the event has yet to be decided although it is likely to be either autumn this year or spring 2013.

The first event was held at the Clickimin Centre in November, jointly organised by Shetland Islands Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

According to SIC marketing head Neil Henderson the feedback was that the event was “a great success”, attended by over 160 people from around Europe.

Efforts to drum up international interest in Dynamic Shetland will be made at the All Energy renewables conference and exhibition to be held in the Aberdeen Conference and Exhibition Centre from 23rd-24th May.

Eight companies and organisations are to share a branded Dynamic Shetland stand at the event, which is the biggest renewable energy event in the UK.
