Woman appears on assault charges

A woman who allegedly carried out an assault and presented a bottle to her victim appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court today.

Laura Hassan, 35, of Gilbertson Road, Lerwick, denies threatening a woman with violence in Mounthooly Street on Wednesday. She also pleaded not guilty to carrying a bottle as an offensive weapon.

Trial was fixed for 12th July, with an intermediate diet on 13th June. She was released on bail, but must abide by a special condition not to approach or contact her alleged victim.
