Man facing drugs charges kept behind bars

A man was remanded in custody this week after appearing for the second time in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court charged with drugs offences. His appearance was delayed due to fog disrupting flights.

Innes Irvine, 45, from Lerwick, made no plea or declaration, was fully committed for trial and remanded in custody.

This follows the seizure of illegal drugs worth over £20,000 from a Lerwick address nearly two weeks ago.

Police uncovered suspected cocaine with a possible street value of £10,000, along with suspected amphetamine potentially worth £10,200 and suspected cannabis with a street value of around £600.
