Rugby team returns to winning ways in style

The Shetland rugby team put last weekend’s cup disappointment behind them by hammering visitors Inverness Craig Dunain 86-0 to remain well in contention for the RBS Caledonia Regional League Division Three (North).

Tries by Craig Irvine (2), Dhanni Moar, Sandy Cluness, Daniel Gray, Stuart Gray and Maurice Williamson (2), four of them converted by Irvine, meant that Shetland had an unassailable 48-0 lead at half time.

Irvine crossed twice more in the second half, along with scores by William Coghill, Craig Mann, and Moar and Williamson again. Irvine converted three of the tries and John Pulley one.

The game was sadly marred by a broken leg sustained by youngster Harry Morton and all his team mates wish him well and look forward to welcoming him back for the start of next season.
