Hours: Part time 30 hours per week
CLAN Cancer Support is a charity that has been serving anyone affected by cancer throughout the North East of Scotland and the Northern Isles for some 30 years. CLAN provides free to all, support, counselling, and complementary therapies to children, young people and adults affected in any way by cancer. CLAN has an exciting and immediate opportunity and applications are invited for the post of Temporary Services & Fundraising Coordinator (Part time), at our CLAN base in Lerwick, Shetland.
CLAN is now able to provide a wider range of services for anyone affected by cancer through its premises in Lerwick. As Temporary Services & Fundraising Coordinator you will build on the services and support we already provide to the people of Shetland; ensure the smooth running of our facilities in Lerwick including the recruitment and retention of CLAN volunteers to increase our numbers; and overall to build on the excellent reputation of CLAN in Shetland as a charity which aims “to comfort always”.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator; be able to coordinate and manage a wide range of services to meet organisational priorities and client expectations; have an understanding of the important role volunteers play especially within the charity sector; have an understanding of cancer and its effect on the individual and their wider family & friends; and display sensitivity as well as having lots of enthusiasm for this exciting and important role.
