£1.4 million to help fishing sector
Fishing sector businesses could benefit from a share of £1.4 million in European funding.
The fisheries team at Marine Scotland say organisations could benefit from a slice of the cash on offer from the European Fisheries Fund.
Any businesses or individuals in Shetland interested in making an application is encouraged to contact the Shetland Business Gateway, run by the Shetland Islands Council economic development service, to note their interest.
Douglas Irvine from the SIC’s economic development said: “This will be the last opportunity for Shetland businesses to access European Fisheries funding.
“Shetland Islands Council can provide a member state contribution of five per cent to assist in levering in this European money.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to get in touch.”
The closing date for applications is 28th February, with decisions expected around June.
