Police are appealing for information following a crash near the Brig o’ Fitch junction.
The incident occurred at about 8.15am on Monday when a dark blue car overtook a line of traffic heading north on the A970. Police say the car clipped the front of an oncoming vehicle.
Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the incident. Witnesses should phone 101 and ask for Lerwick police station.
Road policing officers are appealing for information on the fatal road accident as they name the driver as 25-year old Fraser Smith.
