Bailed on assault charge

A man was released on bail at Lerwick Sheriff Court after appearing on a charge of assaulting his father.

Daniel Andrews, 31, whose bail address was given as Cruester View, Lerwick, was charged with struggling with his father taking him to the ground and repeatedly punching him on the head to his injury.

Andrews was released on bail on condition that he continue to reside at his bail address, does not approach or contact his father and meets with the NHS mental health team tomorrow.

He made no plea or declaration and the case will be continued on 30th Septem
