Broadband meetings
Shetland Islands Council is conducting a consultation to help inform the development of a business plan for future high-speed broadband development in the isles.
The SIC has hired network and IT specialists FarrPoint to undertake consultation with “stakeholders” in the community with the cash coming from a £15,000 budget allocated to the project.
Part of the consultation included holding a number of public sessions to collect the views of individuals, businesses and organisations to gauge what is needed for broadband development.
The meetings were held last week and are not taking place this week, as stated in Friday’s newspaper. The Shetland Times apologises for any inconvenience this mistake may have caused.
