RIB towed into harbour after fire fears
An inflatable boat was towed into Lerwick this morning following concerns about a possible fire on board.
Ayda-Ruby, issued a pan-pan alert at the harbour’s south entrance at about 10.30am.
The 8.4-metre rigid inflatable vessel was carrying three people and Shetland coastguard called the Lerwick lifboat. The Kebister tug was also called to the scene.
The lifeboat towed her back into Lerwick harbour. Nobody was hurt in the incident and the coastguard could not provide more details about the “suspected fire”.
