Ferry booking service hit by telephone fault

Investigations are continuing to establish what is causing intermittent faults with phone lines to the council’s booking office for inter-island ferries at Ulsta.

Problems were noticed this morning and are thought to be connected with a communications mast in the North Mainland.

Typically, phone calls connect to the booking office but then may disconnect without notice.

Until the fault is resolved, anyone who needs to call the booking office urgently is asked to keep trying. The council has apologised for the inconvenience caused.

Online bookings can be made.
