Fine for knife possession and failure to attend court
A man was fined a total of £700 at Lerwick Sheriff Court today after admitting possessing a knife in a public place and failing to turn up for a court appearance.
Mitchell Cross, 24, of Ladies Drive, Lerwick, was fined £500 for having the knife at the Viking Bus Station in Lerwick on 12th December 2015.
He was fined a further £100 for failing to turn up to a hearing on an assault charge on 8th November and another £100 for doing so while on bail that had been granted on 14th December 2015.
