Remanded after admitting running in front of car
A man has been remanded in custody after running in front of a car and struggling with police yesterday.
Nathan Steven Hilditch, of Ladies Drive, Lerwick, admitted the two offences at Lerwick Sheriff Court today when he appeared from custody.
The 22-year-old admitted culpably and recklessly running into the road at Ladies Drive in front of a moving vehicle and causing the driver to take evasive action to prevent a collision.
He also admitted resisting and obstructing two police officers and violently struggling in the same incident.
Honorary sheriff Arnold Duncan refused Hilditch bail on the basis of public safety and ordered him to be remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 12th April.
Hilditch was imprisoned for eight months in September and released after four, although his sentence does not expire until next month.
