Andrew Moorhouse, who had been missing since early Thursday morning, was traced safe and well on Friday evening.
Police thanked the coastguard for their work in helping to trace Mr Moorhouse.
They also thanked members of the public, who they said had come forward with “valuable information” which led to the safe recovery of Mr Moorhouse.
