Child airlifted from NorthLink ferry after falling ill

A child who fell ill on the Hjaltland last night (Sunday) was airlifted by the coastguard helicopter after the ferry had passed Sumburgh Head.

The coastguard confirmed that they received a call at 8.10pm regarding an ill passenger on the Hjaltland and the child arrived at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick at around 10.10pm.
