A 69-year-old North Yorkshire man has appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court charged with rape.
Anthony McElhone was also charged with indecent behaviour towards someone aged between 12 and 16, and two charges of indecent assault.
McElhone made no plea, and was committed for further examination and released on bail.
No date was given for his next appearance.
