Man denies pinning woman to the ground and hitting her head with lamp
A man accused of pinning a woman to the ground and repeatedly punching her head has denied assault.
Christopher Glover, 38, of Bury, Greater Manchester, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court today (Monday).
Glover, 38, is accused of assaulting the complainer at a property in Staney Hill Road, Lerwick, on Thursday.
He is alleged to have straddled her body, pinned her to the floor and started strangling her.
Glover is also accused of striking the complainer on the head with a lamp.
Sheriff Willie Shannon adjourned the hearing, with a trial date set for 21st December.
The sheriff bailed Glover but ordered that he comply with special conditions not to contact the complainer.
