Fraserburgh fishing boat calls at Lerwick twice with sick crewmen
A Fraserburgh fishing boat had to call into Lerwick Harbour twice this week after two of her crewmen were taken ill.
The Sunrise was 60 miles east of Lerwick on Monday night when the first man became ill, and after taking medical advice from the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary arrived at Lerwick at 3am on Tuesday.
The man was transferred by ambulance to the Gilbert Bain Hospital where he was later said to be in a stable condition.
The boat was back in the harbour early on Thursday morning, after another of her crew members sustained a chest injury.
A call was made to the Lerwick coastguard at 11.30pm on Wednesday, and after again taking medical advice the Sunrise was advised to steam to Lerwick, where she arrived at 4.40am.
The boat was again met by the coastguard rescue team and an ambulance, which transferred the fisherman to the hospital where he was also said to be stable.
