Stop the whingeing
Dear, dear. What with many of the usual suspects appearing across the local media for some Lib Dem bashing and now David “A” Clark wading in with anti-Alistair Carmichael tirades it is almost enough to make the letters pages off limits to anyone wanting a bit of sense.
Perhaps we are seeing the birth of political coalitions even more unusual that the present UK government.
As some may have not been noticed in previous weeks, a Conservative-led “hung parliament” was a predictable outcome and Mr Carmichael increased his share of the vote to 60+ per cent in Orkney and Shetland, a seat the Liberals have held for decades.
It is what is called “democracy” and is all part of the system that allows us to write these lovely letters to the local press. If you don’t like it, put yourself on the ballot paper at the next election for whatever cause you choose and see how you do.
Like kids at Christmas, you may not always get what you want but it is polite to stop whingeing and put up and shut up until next year.
I googled David A Clark, St Olaf St, to save any “Clark” confusion and saw that David A Clark, Chief Exec/Dalzell Projects have now come to Shetland.
The banner slogan reads:
“Problems?
Whatever your need,
Whatever your problem,
No matter how dire,
We can put things right!
Contact us NOW.”
Well lucky us, aren’t we blessed!
Come back Stuart Hill, all is forgiven … No Stuart! That’s a joke.
