Man pulled out of Lerwick Harbour after falling into water near accommodation barge
A man had to be pulled out of Lerwick Harbour in the early hours of Sunday after falling into the water at Morrison Dock.
Emergency services were called at around 2am after the 49-year-old fell into the water near the Bibby Challenger floating hotel.
The coastguard, fire brigade, ambulance and police all responded to the call and the man was pulled out of the water by police and a member of the public. He was taken to hospital and later discharged.
In other news a man was arrested for causing a breach of the peace at Posers nightclub. The 38-year-old was detained after the incident at 12.30am on Saturday morning.
Later on Saturday a 27-year-old was arrested for shop-lifting at the Co-op and a 20-year-old man was taken to the cells for obstructing police during a drugs search. Reports on those three incidents are being sent to the procurator fiscal in Lerwick.
Meanwhile police are appealing for help after cars were broken into at Fort Charlotte. Belongings were stolen from the vehicles between 4.30pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.
