Flights returning to normal at Sumburgh but Scatsta affected by low cloud
Flights are slowly getting back to normal after the disruption caused by the fog yesterday.
The earliest flights to leave Sumburgh Airport departed at around 10.30am today after two flights, one from Edinburgh and one from Aberdeen, managed to get in, albeit both delayed. There had been no arrivals overnight.
No movements at all were taking place at Scatsta, however. A spokeswoman for the airport said that this was because the aircraft using the airport need a high cloud base in which to operate, and she did not expect the situation to change for some time.
The fog caused havoc with flights yesterday, with no flying at all at Scatsta and most flights affected at Sumburgh.
