Man arrested as £20,000 of heroin is seized at ferry terminal
A man was found with suspected heroin worth in the region of £20,000 at the Holmsgarth ferry terminal in Lerwick today.
Police searched the 36-year-old on arrival of the NorthLink ferry and found him in possession of the class A drugs. He was arrested and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Acting Iinspector Lindsay Tulloch said: “These seizures are as a result of determined action from the police to act on information provided by the public.
“The disruption of drugs misuse and supply on Shetland continues and can only progress with support and information provided by the community.”
