Charity wins RBS cash support after public vote

The local charity Mind Your Head has been successful in the RBS Community Fund, beating off opposition from two charities in the Highlands and Islands in an extensive online voting competition.

Mind Your Head will now receive £3,000 from the fund which will be directed towards assisting with projects, often aimed at young people, to help raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Chairwoman Shona Manson said: “We are absolutely delighted to have heard we were the winners of this round of funding especially as supporters of Mind Your Head were so active in voting.

“It is important for us to acknowledge the amazing support we receive from our community and this funding is just one more example. We are looking forward to undertaking new work in 2011 which will be led be our recently appointed co-ordinators, Jenny Teale and Jacqui Clark. They will be busy launching new project and development initiatives from January onwards.”
