Police warn businesses to be wary of false ID cards

Lerwick police have issued a warning to shop owners and employees to be watchful for false ID cards which are currently circulating and being used by under-age youths to buy tobacco and alcohol.

The cards are said to be of excellent quality and take the form of a genuine identification card.

The police said on Monday that they would like to remind shop owners and employees to remain vigilant when dealing with youths who present ID for proof of age.
