Spurs and Delting join Scalloway and Whalsay in semi-finals of football season curtain raiser

Spurs and Delting were victorious in the remaining quarter-final ties in this year’s Highland Fuels Cup competition, the curtain raiser to the senior football season.

Spurs defeated Whitedale 6-3 last Thursday with goals by Scott Morrison (2), James Johnston (2), Lewis Kay and Josie Kay. Replying for the losers were Martin Clark (2) and Martin Binns.

Delting managed a single-goal win over Celtic on Monday, with veteran Peter Peterson on target.

The semi-finals see Delting take on Scalloway and Spurs do battle with Whalsay. Both matches will be played at the Harbison Park in Symbister with dates to be confirmed.
