Viking cash meeting referred to regulator (Billy Fox)
The minutes from the Shetland Charitable Trust’s contentious meeting of 6th July (where a further £420,000 was given to Viking Energy Ltd) are now available:
In my opinion they are a scant description of the true conduct of the meeting; nevertheless councillor/trustee Frank Robertson’s position at the declarations of interest stage is stated categorically, he was “taking no part”.
That is why I believe the meeting became inquorate upon the departure of trustee John Scott and was conducted illegally from that moment onward, subsequently I have re-iterated these concerns to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
As an aside it is worth noting councillor/trustee Angus’s statement when declaring an interest that he had never taken part in any charitable trust discussion on Viking Energy. This is not the case, for example councillor/trustee Angus took part in the meeting of 24th June 2010 when the final £750,000 of the initial £3,000,000 was drawn down:
Yet another instance of the confusion that reigns in all matters relating to Viking Energy.
