Clickimin swansong for Singing Kettle pair Cilla and Artie

This weekend’s visit of the Singing Kettle will be the last chance for husband and wife team Cilla Fisher and Artie Trezise to say a fond farewell to their Shetland fans.

Last week, Cilla and Artie announced that their forthcoming Christmas tour would be their final stage appearance. Following more than 30 years of shows across the UK and abroad in the USA and Asia, the pair feel it is the right time to introduce new blood to continue the Singing Kettle’s huge success.

Their connection to Shetland started way before the Singing Kettle, dating back to the 1970s when they were a folk duo touring major folk venues and festivals.

This weekend’s show is titled “Fancy Dress Party” and will see Cilla and Artie – joined by Gary and Kevin – rummaging deep into their giant toy box to find wacky costumes to dress up for a “fantastic sing along”.

Saturday’s two shows will take place in the Clickimin Centre at 12 noon and 3pm, coinciding with the October school holidays.

“Shetland is a very special place,” Cilla said. “We’ve been coming here for a long time. Over the past three years we have managed to bring our Singing Kettle show over and there has been such a great atmosphere at the Clickimin.

“Singing, dressing and performing for children and their parents around the world has been such great fun. We have been so lucky to do something that we love for so long. We want to thank all our Kettle fans in Shetland and we are really looking forward to saying farewell and having one last emotional sing along with everyone.”
