Woman ‘serious’ after Brig o’ Fitch accident
A woman was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital with “serious” injuries following a two-vehicle road accident at the Brig o’ Fitch on Sunday night.
She remained in hospital overnight, but a police spokeswoman said the woman was in a “stable” condition, with the injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
All three emergency services were called to the incident, on the A970 two miles outside of Lerwick, shortly after 9pm on Sunday. A second woman and a man were also involved in the two-car collision.

Dangerious junction,no surprise at latest accident,two years ago my daughter while waiting for a break in trafic to turn right at this junction was hit from behind with such force as to be driven across the opposite carriage way,just luck saved a pontential fatal accident.
This was reported to police but no action taken since no serious injury was sustained.
I have been told accident black spots are only dealth with depending on police reports of accidents so one is left to wonder does people have to be crippled or killed for accidents to be recorded.
There has been a fatal accident or accidentsat this junction in the past admittedly several years ago

Why not put countdown bumps on the road as you see down south on high speed roads coming to a roundabout for example getting closer as you reach the bend with signs recommending a speed a speed of about 35-40 mph.
