Youngster’s Slestered Peenie cookbook ready

A Young Enterprise company from Brae High School is ready to start distributing copies of its cookbook.

The Slestered Peenie Company compiled recipes and took orders at events including the Shetland Arts and Crafts fair.

Members of the local community contributed recipes and there is a foreword from Shetland’s Great British Bake Off contestant James Morton.

Jamie Oliver also donated a recipe for the ‘Peerie Book of Cook’. It is illustrated with graphics by talented group member Julie Dennison.

Company director Nala Williamson said: “We are delighted that the book has made it to Shetland. It is a major step forward for our company and we are thrilled that we will be able to distribute the book in time for Christmas.

“We have learnt so much through this project and look forward to getting all the orders out to the public that has supported us so well. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us throughout this process.”

Support came from the group’s link teacher, Shetland Area Board of Young Enterprise and business advisers.

Anyone interested or wanting to place an order should visit www.facebook.com/SlesteredPeenie or email slesteredpeenie@post.com.
Copies can be collected from Brae High School or will be posted to those that choose this option.

For customers who would like to collect their orders from Islesburgh Complex copies will be available on: Tuesday 18th December from 10am – 12pm, 2pm – 4pm and 5pm -7pm; and Thursday 20th December from 5pm -7pm.
