A detached house in Hamnavoe, Burra, was extensively damaged by fire this morning.
Fire crews were called shortly after 6am and spent all morning tackling the blaze.
Four appliances, including one from Scalloway, two from Lerwick and one from Sandwick, were on the scene and fire-fighters in breathing apparatus were able to extinguish the fire.
