Festival’s newest member arrives
Shetland Folk Festival has it’s newest member – little Hamish McLeman.
Committee member Mhari Pottinger gave birth to him at 2.16am on Sunday.
Mhari had busily been working on the folk festival to the last minute. She compered the Friday night show at the Lerwick Legion and had been at the Clickimin on Saturday when she went into labour. She announced the birth with a post on Facebook on Sunday saying that she and Hamish’s dad, Ewan McLeman, were delighted.
“Ewan and I are delighted to announce the early but safe arrival of Hamish McLeman, who was obviously keen to join in on the Folk Festival fun. Born at 2.16am this morning in Lerwick, weighing 7lb 5 & 1/2 oz. Currently in Aberdeen as a peerie bit premature (36wks plus 2 days) but he’s doing just amazing.
“Apologies to any ff goers at the Clickimin who thought we were a bit distracted at doors last night. It had all just begun :-)”
