Whitedale pick up four more Madrid points
Whitedale continued their excellent form in senior football’s Madrid Cup competition with a comfortable victory over Scalloway on Friday and a draw against Spurs on Monday evening.
Elsewhere the results reflected the inconsistent start to the season by most of the other teams.
Madrid Cup
Celtic 0, Whalsay 1
A Karl Williamson beauty was the difference between the sides in a close contest.
Thistle 3, Delting 3
Goals for the Jags came from Kevin Teale, an own goal and Calvin Leask. Alistair Williamson, Leighton Flaws and Ross McDougall scored for the Delts.
Whitedale 5, Scalloway 0
Two goals each from Lorne McNiven and Richard Sinclair were enough for a comfortable win for Whitedale. Ali Scott got the other.
Scalloway 5, Celtic 1
Jamie Allan (2) and a Scott Henderson hat trick gave the village side a big win over the Hoops. Robert Smith scored for Celtic.
Whalsay 1, Delting 3
The scorers have not been registered.
Whitedale 0, Spurs 0
Conditions added to what was a poor game of football between arguably the senior league’s best two sides.
